DIRT! Hits the airwaves on LA’s Uprising Radio

As DIRT! kicked off it's DocuWeeks run, Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow got together with  KPFK Uprising Radio host Sonali Kolhatkar to talk about reel DIRT.

"We wanted to do a film about the importance of dirt when, among other things, we read Bill Logan's book. But, also as we found out that dirt is literally alive. And if dirt weren't alive, we would not be here," said Benenson.

The film takes viewers on a journey that praises the blessing of living soil, what humans have done to destroy it, and--most importantly--what we can do to solve the issues.

"There are solutions. Another world is possible and we're going to show it to you," Gene Rosow said in the interview.

Sonali Kolhatkar, remarked that upon watching DIRT! The Movie, she was compelled to "get my hands in the dirt...in a way that I don't think I've felt before."

And this is just the reaction that Gene and Bill hope all audiences share. The human relationship with dirt is fundamental, sacred, and far-reaching.

Repairing that relationship is what DIRT! the Movie is all about.
